Kuwait: Ministry of Health: A scientific study in which Kuwait participated has reached new results in the therapeutic protocol for (Covid-19) patients in intensive care.
The Ministry of Health announced that Kuwait participated in a global scientific research study that concluded that the medically known position of resting on the willful abdomen in intensive care of (COVID-19) patients is called (The prone position) — a component of the therapeutic protocol — in terms of mitigation Move on ventilators or reduce deaths.
In the study titled “The effect of lying on the willful abdomen of Covid-19 patients in intensive care (prone position) without the use of ventilators,” said in a press release, the head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Department at Al-Amiri Hospital, Dr Abdulrahman Al-Fares, said in a press statement, was completed.
In collaboration with more than one global research centre from the United States, Canada and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
He pointed out that a team of intensive care at the Prince Hospital and Intensive Care at Jaber Ahmad Hospital participated in that study on intensive care patients and how much they benefited from the position of arbitrary lying on the abdomen or back and avoiding the need for lung ventilators due to an Acute pulmonary palsy caused by inflammation (covid-19).
It was noted that the study was conducted on 400 patients with the participation of 49 patients from Kuwait and was published in the American Medical Association (JAMA).
