RIYADH, Saudi Arabia:- One of the blind person/contestants starred in an international competition in Saudi Arabia, and he was dedicated to reciting the Holy Quran and delivering adhan (which is famous for the name of the Islamic call to prayer) based on voice only, without the complement of any musical instruments.
He reached the semi-finals, beating more than 40,000 applicants from 80 countries around the world, by explaining to the jury his power to apply the requirements of the voice performance, taking into account in order to use sound pitches in their right places.
It is estimated that the prize money for the contest is appropriately at $ 3.2 million, and it is the biggest of its type of talent in the history of the whole middle east, especially in the religious aspect. The person who won this competition by repeating the holy Quran accepts $1.3 million, while the first-place winner in giving the call to prayer receives $533,000. The leftover prize money is divided among six other contestants.
The contestant Younes Gharbi, who travelled from Morocco to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, assured that he spent all his life and teenage years just memorizing the Holy Quran through listening and repetition until he learned it and has become a strong competitor in the Quranic competitions.
The competition, which is held under the supervision of the entertainment authority in Saudi Arabia, is broadcast on the Scent of Speech (OTR Elkalam) telecasted on the official Saudi television during Ramadan. The contest caught many qualifiers and stages until the number of finalists reached 36 candidates to win the competition prize.
