Afghanistan/Taliban: The Taliban has executed various gender division plans in the western Herat region, as per media reports.
In the Taliban, men are not permitted to dine with their family members in the Herat region family restaurants.
According to reports, the new rule of the Ministry for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice supplies “even if they are husband or wife.”
One of the Afghan women stated that she was having dinner with her husband in Herat restaurant, and the restaurant staff told her to sit separately from her husband.
According to ‘Riazullah Seerat’, a Taliban official at the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Ministry had launched a directive requiring Herat’s public parks to be gender-segregated, with men and women authorized to attend only on separate days.
He continued while saying that women are only allowed to go to parks on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. “The other days are set aside for males to visit for their leisure activities and exercise.”
In March, the Taliban had issued the same order, in which they banned men and women from going to amusement parks on the same day.
Yesterday, the Foreign Ministers of western countries expressed their disappointment in a joint statement about escalating restrictions imposed by the Taliban that impact the human rights of Afghan women.
As per their statement, “all afghans should enjoy their fundamental rights. These rights are undividable and inalienable, expressed in an international human rights law, and endorsed by all members of the United Nations.
