United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Police Force Department has issued a piece of information stating that around 2,500 kilograms of opium have been seized by the Canadian Authorities, which is considered the largest amount of opium sealed by a government authority.
As per the officials from the Dubai Police, an announcement was made by the Canadian authorities that they have seized the largest amount of opium in Canadian history,
after getting a reliable security tip from the Dubai Police department regarding 19 (nineteen) shipping containers which was suspiciously containing doubtful narcotic substances and were heading to Canada.
Furthermore, the Canadian Security Authorities have made it possible with the help and assistance from the Dubai Police officials. It was another commitment shown by the Canadian forces to keep their communities and people safe from illicit drugs.
In addition, the CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency has confirmed that in September 2022, an investigation was conducted to monitor the importation of the controlled substances concealed in marine containers,
with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and FSOC (Federal Serious and Organized Crime.
Based on this investigation, the CBSA metro Vancouver Marine Operations on 25 October 2022 examined goods inside the 19 marine containers. The forces have used advanced detection tools, including X-ray technology.
During the investigations, the security officers noticed irregularities in the pallets of the ship as part of the deep concealment method; when the officers dug deep into the matter through physical examination, Canadian forces found 2,486 kilograms of opium inside 247 shipping pallets.

Dubai Police has confirmed that it is another example of their regular and enhanced cooperation with Canadian authorities and law enforcement forces. The officials have also reaffirmed that the commitment as per the vision of the Interior Ministry,
to maintain strong, vital and active communication with the police and law departments of other countries to stop such transitional crimes.
In a recent meeting between the police forces of Canada and Dubai, Assistant Commissioner of (RCMP) Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Will NG, expressed his gratitude and thanked the Anti Narcotics Department of Dubai Police for acknowledging their valuable contribution and part in the operation.
The reports have noted, ‘’The seized opium was estimated of the street value of over 50 million Canadian dollars which was kept to enter the province of British Columbia.’’
