Egypt: Yasmin Fouad seeks update on Waste Management System

The Ministry of Environment Egypt has recently shared an update regarding the meeting of Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad with the Governor of South Sinai in Sharm El Sheikh to discuss and collect the latest updates concerning achieving sustainability in the Waste Management system.

As per the information, Minister Yasmin Fouad has extended her remarks and said, ‘’We have established a mechanism to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the new waste system in Sharm El Sheikh’’.

The reports have confirmed that Dr Yasmin Fouad, Minister of Environment and Major General Khaled Fouda, met South Sinai Governor to discuss the latest updates on implementing the new waste management system in Sharm El Sheikh.

During the meeting, the Minister praised the efforts of all workers and employees in the province led by Major General Khaled Vouda in climate preparation and humiliation of Obstacles to host the COP27 climate conference and work on its success to deliver ‘AN HONORABLE PICTURE OF EGYPT’.

In addition, Environment Minister Fouad has reviewed the current position on the implementation of the agreement of the Environment and Green Plant Companies to implement the waste management system in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Yasmin Fouad further added that the implementation process is majorly connected with two stages which also include the provision of equipment and contribution to the successful implementation of the waste management system, Especially the climate conference COP27.

Additionally, the Minister pointed out the need to hasten up a mechanism to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the system,

stating that a blueprint has been prepared in cooperation between the two ministries of Environment and Local Development regulating the form of this mechanism to be presented to the High Committee of Tourism.

Within the Ministry of Planning and Organizational Environment and Supervisors framework in the new waste management system, article 370 of the management law Waste Organization No. 1 for the year 2020.

On his part, Major General Khaled Fouda took it to express his happiness for the success of the COP27 climate conference, describing it as an epic work, 

in which all efforts under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, have expressed his happiness with the importance of ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of the brain management system.

In the end, the province is also keen to work with the Alliance of Environment and Green Plant companies in charge of implementing the system and encouraging post-community engagement investigation.
