The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, announced the ‘Global South Centre of Excellence” on Friday to research developing and emerging new solutions and best practices which would assist the other nations of the developing world.
As per the reports, PM Narendra Modi has stated, “It is an honour to announce that India is going to establish a Global South Centre of Excellence,” during his opening remarks at the sitting of the Voice of Global South Summit.
“The institution will mainly focus on researching and developing the potential solutions and best practices from any of the involved countries, which can be scaled globally and implemented in the members of Global South,” said PM Modi.
During the session, Prime Minister cited an example of the solutions as the digital public products made in India in various fields, such as e-payments, education, health, and e-governance, can be of essential use for many developing countries nations.
Pm Modi has also addressed India has also made an impact in several important fields like technology and nuclear energy, ‘Global South Science and Technology initiative’ will also be launched to share our expertise with other nations in the developing phase, “he added.
In his remarks, Prime Minister made the case for globalisation does not direct to unequal distribution of vaccines or over-concentrated global supply chains. “We want a globalisation distribution that brings prosperity and growth and well-being to humanity all over the world.
As per the Ministry of External Affairs, India has conducted this Voice of South Summit to centre international attention on the priorities and concerns of the developing nations. The leaders appreciated the efforts of PM Modi’s leadership while hosting the Summit at a crucial juncture.
In the end, the leaders of the nations expressed hope and faith that the Summit would catalyze building and assisting a prosperous and progressive future for the entire world that considers the Global South’s needs. (ANI)
