Iraq: The President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, has recently received today, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Baghdad Palace, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Mr Montasser Al-Zaabi.
During the meeting, President Jamal Rashid welcomed the Jordanian Ambassador, expressed his gratitude towards the sister country, and held extensive discussions to enhance cooperation and common matters.
According to recent reports, the information was shared through the official social media handle of the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq. The update shared by the officials stated that “At the outset of the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed greetings to the President of Jordanian King Abdullah II.”
In addition, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, further expressed his pleasure and thankfulness while appreciating the royal family for the participation of the President and the First Lady in the Qur’an contract ceremony and the wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, said the reports.
In this regard, the Iraqi President emphasized and recognized the importance of fostering bilateral relations between the two countries to impact consolidating stability in the region positively.
He mentioned that through enhanced bilateral ties and the relationship between Iraq and Jordan, both nations would develop further means of trade, business, exports and imports.
Moreover, he also stressed the need to promote diplomatic relations between both countries and indicated sheer keenness to develop constructive cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
On his part, Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq Al-Zaabi conveyed his greetings and thanks to King Abdullah II, expressing his wishes for further fraternal relations and cooperation success.
In his turn, Ambassador Montasser Al-Zaabi emphasized the Jordanian government’s and people’s desire to strengthen the ties between the two countries and the two sister peoples to achieve their aspirations for progress and prosperity and consolidate political and economic stability in the region.
