Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, minister of foreign affairs, stated that Yemen is going through a difficult phase . He expressed these views at the 7+ group summit . The summit of group 7+ was held at the sidelines of the 78th session of uited Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.
He said that our country is suffering from a difficult situation of economic and humanitarian crises . The reasons behind these major problems are the coup of Houthi on constitutional legitimacy , the challenge posed by COVID-19, and recent changed geopolitical conditions.
He underlined the threat from Houthi militants biggest one . The huge level of human rights violations is the biggest problem Yemen is currently facing. Houthi militants are not just treating the govt with coup threats. At the same time, they are committing extreme atrocities on the common people of Yemen and violating their human rights .
These all volatile conditions make the national economy of Yemen weak . This also leads to a decline in the progress of the national economy , a job decline , decline in the national currency exchange rate .
Dr Mubarak also expressed fears that the decreased purchasing power of the Yemeni population would lead to the risk of hunger and starvation of millions of Yemeni people .
He said we are living in a time of hostile global environment . The gap and ideological differences between different ethnic groups are widening .
Although the Yemeni foreign minister clarifies that the Yemeni government is doing its best, it is trying to bring peace to the country . Peace efforts are being taken with the assistance of many regional and international governments, and the help of many organizations is also being taken.
Bin Mubarak also expressed strong determination to the Yemen govt to mobilize the resources. Mobilizing resources is necessary to fight inflation and other ill effects of war.
