Dy PM Ernest Hilaire highlights contestants of Queen of Gros Islet Pageant

Saint Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire highlighted the community pageant which is being held alongside the pageant season. The Sashing ceremony for the participants of the Queen of Gros Islet Pageant was hosted on Monday.

The peageantry is an important part of the Saint Lucian culture and has been entertaining the members of the community for several decades.

The pageants highlight and encourage the beauties of the community to make their families and loved ones proud. They would show their talents in the pageant whre the judges would select the queen.

The Queen of Gros Islet Pageant will move on to the  national pageant an represent the country in the Saint Lucia National Carnival Queen Pageant. Many communities within Saint Lucia host their independent pageants and send the winning representatives for the national Carnival.

Queen of Gros Islet Pageant, with six representatives from the various inhabitant communities will be hosted on Sunday, July 28th, 2024. Taking to his social media, Minister Ernest Hilaire highlighted that he was delighted to see the six beauties who are representing Gros Islet.

Prime Minister Hilaire highlighted that The Carnival Season in Saint Lucia is also recognized as Pageant Season. Communities around the island host small yet elegant pageants to complement our national event.

Dr Hilaire also congratulated the organizers of the pageant, the Queen of Gros Islet Pageant Committee for hosting the Sashing Ceremony. The ceremony served as  a precursor to their night of elegance set for Sunday, July 28th, 2024.
