PM Drew highlights efforts made by Labour Party towards protection of St. Kitts and Nevis people

St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew highlighted some efforts that were made by the current ruling Labour Party and praised them for working towards the protection of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

While mentioning the important facts, PM Drew emphasised on the initiatives done by the party. He said in praise of the government of St. Kitts and Nevis that this government (Labour Party) is second to none when it comes to people protection.

Prime Minister Dr. Drew emphasised upon the points that were initiated to brought the changes in the nation St. Kitts and Nevis. The factors which were mentioned by the PM considered increase in minimum wages, as they were made one of the highest in the region.

Some other changes that were brought were increase in the civil servants pay, independence reset, increased STEP, Stabilizing Lift, Elevate, Free college and increased pre-school subsidy.

Along with all these, he also mentioned the initiative taken for the medical assistance and towards improving the health sector such as Children’s medical fund, School uniform program, Food Voucher program, Electricity Subsidy, Water Subsidy as well as Propane gas subsidy and adjusting the duties and taxes on food to limit inflation.

Considerably, the efforts were mainly directed to help the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. These people centred programs costed about a quarter billion dollars annually around $250,000,000 which is about a quarter of the annual budget.

As per the sources, the government has invested in the people, while getting this low they lifted the people higher.

Following this, many people of the nation St. Kitts and Nevis have given views and gave a positive response. A social media user Viona Garnett expressed gratitude and said, “Good morning PM Dr. Drew. Thanks for all you have done so far and continue to do for the people. You can do the 99% and the 1 you haven’t done is a problem. Look to God from whence cometh you help. May God bless you and protect you daily. No weapon form against you shall prosper.”

Another person with the username Althea Bass said, “Dr. Drew thanks for all your hard work you are doing along with your team. Excellent things are happening. We just have to be patient…soon we won’t have enough hands to do work. Have faith and confidence in our leaders. To lay a foundation takes a lot of planning. Not easy. Just pray for them.”
