St. Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Foreign Affairs – Dr. Denzil Douglas signed two significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during his official visit to India, on August 05, 2024. The Minister signed it with India’s Ministry of Sports and Ministry of Electronics & IT, during his official visit to India.
The signed agreements by St. Kitts and Nevis, marked a pivotal step in strengthening the bilateral relations and foster cooperation between the two nations.
The first signed agreement is ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Sports’. The MoU aims to enhance collaboration in the field of sports between the two countries. This will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise and best practices in various sports disciplines.
The agreement is expected to promote the development of sports at all levels and create the opportunities for athletes, coaches and sports administrators to participate in joint training programs, tournaments and other activities.
Second signed agreement is ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Sharing Successful Digital Solutions Implemented At Population Scale For Digital Transformation.’
The MoU mainly focused on the exchange of digital solutions and innovations to address common challenges and improve public services.
However, the agreement will enable both countries to collaborate on projects related to digital governance, cybersecurity, e-governance and digital infrastructure development.

Minister Douglas spoke at the signing ceremony and expressed his optimism about the future of the partnership between the two nations. He expressed that the agreements represented a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations with India.
He also mentioned that by working together in the areas of sports and digital solutions, they are not only strengthening the bilateral ties but also creating the opportunities for the people to get benefit from the shared knowledge and expertise.
