UN agencies employ journalists to report on their work around the world.
From the time when the Taliban carried over the country in August, crises have grown over a crackdown on conflict. IN RECENT WEEKS, the UN has repeatedly raised the alarm over missing women’s rights activists.
International nations refused to recognise the Taliban-led government but have ramped up engagement as they try to prevent a huge humanitarian problem arising from an economy slowed by boycotts and a halt in development funding since the group took over.
This week, a Taliban representative visited Geneva for discussions with the help agencies and meetings with the officials of Swiss. The Swiss Foreign Ministry planned to call on the Taliban to respect human rights and international humanitarian law.
