Riyadh: Saudi Culture Minister talked with Indian filmmakers. Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud concluded talks on Sunday, which occurred with Indian filmmakers marquee actors aiming to bring their knowledge and expertise to the Kingdom.
Prince Badr, also a chairman of the Saudi Film Commission, stated that the visit comes as a part of the Kingdom’s efforts in order to enhance its capabilities in the film industry in an increasingly interconnected world. He added that promoting meaningful cultural exchange with the world has become essential.
Furthermore, Prince Badr stated that “Film is a very powerful tool in this context. Moreover, it plays a crucial role in contributing to the economy.”
“Our visit to India has helped us to strengthen our connection with the thriving film industry in India in an effort to investigate more partnership opportunities and knowledge exchange, which will help us attain the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
Prince Badr guided a panel that visited India for three days in a bid to discuss choices for cooperation with the country’s film industry.
The panel consisted of administration from the Saudi Film Commission and Film AlUla.
Prince Badr also met with many Indian producers and filmmakers, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar.
The minister came to India with the aim to execute training programs, enhance their investment opportunities, and support fil production infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The meetings also witnessed a presentation of the Red Sea International Film Festival and how it donates to the region’s film industry and can potentially make Indian movies.
Saudi Film Commission CEO Abdullah Al-Ayaf Al-Qahtani stated: “In light of the infrastructure, development, and promising talents, the Kingdom is ready to be an attractive location for filmmakers globally, hoping that this collaboration will result in further development of the film sector in the Kingdom.”
