Saudi Arabia: There are so many Clips and pictures circulating on social media revealing an incident of violence and assault on the social care home in the Khamis Mushait governorate in the Asir region in Saudi Arabia.
The circulated clips show the entry of a number of masked people and others dressed as security men to an orphanage carrying sticks and beating a group of girls.
Reports also published a picture showing the effects of violence and beatings on one of the girls in the house.
The hashtag #Khamis_Mushait_orphans was issued on the Twitter network amid astonishment and denunciation of the incident, calling for the speedy verification of its authenticity and the accountability of those responsible for it.
On the other hand, the Public Prosecution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia started yesterday after the incident of destroying public funds in the Social Education House in Khamis Mushait Governorate, and the case is still under investigation.
An official source in the Public Prosecution told the media that based on what was monitored by the Parliamentary Monitoring Center from the informational content of “video clips” that include an incident inside the Social Education House in the Khamis Mushait Governorate in the Asir region, measures had been taken.
The source also stated that in light of the spread of informational content on social media, the Information Crimes Prosecution had started its investigations into the circulating content.
The source stressed the inviolability of physically or morally harming the arrested and prohibited his humiliating treatment, stressing at the same time the protection of public money from felony and assault and that the Public Prosecution is proceeding with its judicial procedures to protect society and preserve public money, and its judicial role in taking care of the guarantees established for detainees.
And the Emirate of Asir region had announced urgently that in reference to what was circulated through social media for videos and photos showing an incident inside the Social Education House in the Khamis Mushait Governorate, a directive was issued by the Emir of the Asir region, Prince Turki bin Talal, to form a committee to find out the incident, and investigate with All parties, and refer the case to the competent authority.
For its part, the Human Rights Commission is following the incident with great interest, which took place in the Social Education House in Khamis Mushait Governorate, where it formed a team for this purpose.
The commission noted the directive of the governor of the Asir region, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, to form a committee to investigate the incident. Confirming that it is working in partnership with the relevant authorities to address all the observations that were monitored.
