Saudi Arabia: The Organizing Committee of the World Petroleum Conference announced the acceptance of the candidacy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host and organize the conference and the accompanying exhibition in its 25th edition in Riyadh for the year 2026 AD, on the sidelines of the Youth Conference, organized by the World Petroleum Council, in the city of Almaty in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Kingdom received great international support after the Ministry of Energy submitted, finally the Kingdom’s candidacy file to host the conference and exhibition.
The Director-General of the World Petroleum Council, Dr Piers Reimer, congratulated the Kingdom for choosing to host the 25th edition of the World Petroleum Conference in Riyadh, as the largest petroleum exporting country in the world and has one of the largest oil reserves in the world, which confirms the Kingdom’s global importance and its ability to host one of the most important gatherings.
Dr. Remer looked forward to working with the Kingdom to organize a highly successful conference in 2026 AD that would raise the Kingdom’s position as a global leader in the field of energy, as well as one of the most active economies in the world.
It is noteworthy that the World Petroleum Conference, and the accompanying exhibition, is a prominent global event, bringing together countries and international organizations every three years to enhance cooperation between them in the fields of energy and to find solutions to the basic challenges facing the development of this vital sector. Specialists and visitors, bearing in mind that the 24th World Petroleum Conference will be held from September 17 to 21, 2023 AD, in Calgary, Canada.
It is noteworthy that the World Petroleum Council, which is the organizer of the conference, was established in 1933 AD, and it is a neutral platform for discussing the issues facing the oil and gas sector among all stakeholders from around the world, and the Council works to employ scientific developments in the oil and gas sectors, technology transfer, and sustainable use of the world’s petroleum resources for the benefit of all.
