Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: Khan International Sports (KIS), a popular bat manufacturing brand coming from Jammu and Kashmir, has been gaining immense popularity during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), providing noticeable recognition to the local bat brand. 

The upsurge in the popularity of the local bat manufacturing brand, KIS, has become a significant factor in the development of the overall cricketing aspect of Jammu and Kashmir. 

KIS was founded by two brothers, Firdous Khan and Shiraz Khan, in 2017 and gained rapid growth and popularity since its beginning among both elite national and international cricketers.

In addition, KIS bats appeared in the hands of Bangladesh cricketer Mustafizur Rahman when he chose to play with their bat in the IPL season in 2021. 

After the first appearance, the Kashmiri bat brand came into the spotlight once again when Afghanistan cricketer Fazalhaq Farooqi played with a KIS bat in a match representing Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 IPL.

The manufacturing unit of the KIS bats has been set in Bijbehara, Kashmir, along with a facility in Meerut and Uttar Pradesh. The manufacturing company produce a variety of cricket equipment and merchandise. 

Furthermore, KIS bats were also used by many international cricketers, such as Taijul Islam from Bangladesh and Shahzad Ahmed, a former international cricketer from Afghanistan, during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

The Kashmiri-based bat brand has also achieved popularity among women’s international cricketers, including West Indian and Bangladesh players while performing national duties. 

On his part, co-owner of KIS, Firdous Khan, expressed immense pleasure regarding the success of their Kashmiri brand and its display among the popular global leagues around the world. Through this, he also emphasized that the entire Kashmiri sports industry has benefited from the success of KIS. 

He stated that among the top cricketing leagues of the world, IPL has evolved as the most prominent and globally famous league. He mentioned that seeing the usage of our bat by favourite cricket players is a big boost to their company and the entire sports industry. 

In his remarks, he thanked the Afghanistan cricketer Fazalhaq Farooqi for playing with their bat, which has boosted the trust and acceptance of the Kashmiri brand bat KIS among the other players.
