PM Terrance Drew launches “OWN home Mortgage scheme”

St Kitts and Nevis: Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, launched a home ownership scheme called “OWN Home Mortgage scheme”. Anguilla National Bank is offering this scheme in collaboration with the National Housing Corporation and the Ministry of Sustainable Development of St Kitts and Nevis. The scheme aimed to ease home ownership through loan facilities.

PM Drew said that this is the fourth scheme under the mortgage services being provided by the Anguilla National Bank. This scheme is one of the premier services of the bank. Under the provisions of this scheme, any person can avail of the loan facility.

A person can take a loan of up to 1 million dollars. Moreover, this loan will be available at attractive rates of interest. Prime Minister Terrance Drew further added that this scheme is a testament to the government’s commitment to the betterment of its citizens. He termed the OWN as the “ownership with no worries”, which will have many benefits for people who want to own a home with easy loan facilities.

While commenting on the Initiative taken by  his government and Labour party, PM said the government knows the role of homeownership. Home ownership played a significant role in building the future of the nation, and the government is doing its best on this front. He also stated that home ownership is not just a dream but a fundamental right of every citizen.

PM Drew underlined that the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party always recognises the general demands of the citizens. Labour Party government is determined to turn the dream of home ownership into reality with people-centric policies and laws.

The PM also referred to the introduction of the Building Materials Reset, build and Thrive incentive scheme. This scheme was launched on the 40th Independence Day of the St Kitts and Nevis.
