PM Terrance Drew attends the Diwali celebration of Indian communinty

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Terrance Drew attended the Diwali celebration. The event was held on 4th November, Saturday, by members of the Indian community. He congratulated people on this occasion and also expressed happiness being part of the event. 

While sharing images of the event on his social media handles, PM, Terance Drew stated that “ it was a pleasure attending the Diwali festival of Lights on Saturday 4th November with the Indian community, here in St Kitts and Nevis. I enjoyed the cultural celebration.”

Recetly Diwali celebration event  was held at the Marriot, St Kitts and Nevis. Moreover, the occasion of the Diwali celebration was sponsored by the SKNRS(St Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association). SKNRS is a non-profit organisation and is used to sponsor many cultural and heritage events. 

The official of the SKNRA expressed their happiness and said that they felt proud being the organiser of the event.  It is worth mentioning that Diwali is one of the famous festivals of India. It is also called the festival of the lights. it is celebrated in the memories of the lord Shri Ram, who returns from long years of self-exile.

 Just to welcome the lord ram, people lighted up their houses, and since then, every year, the festival celebrated with joy. While addressing the Guests , The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the Indian community and also appreciated their contribution to the economy of St Kitts and Nevis.

 

The PM also said that I wish this festival brings happiness, joy, and grace to the lives of all the people. Many attractive performances were given by the artists, cultural and musical performances.  A large number of people were present during the occasion.  After the ceremony, the event organiser thanked Prime Minster Terrance Drew for his arrival at the event.
