St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew met with the school children to commemorate the beginning of Child Month. He showcased his sincerity towards the commitment by Labour administration of creating an environment that is best for the children.
Upon meeting the children, PM Drew has also introduced a number of important policies that were exchanged to mark the Child Month.
The one-to-one laptop program and Free college are some policies that were included along with the Increased pre-school subvention for all children to make all necessary facilities accessible related to the school and education.

Another policy introduced was the Children’s Medical Fund to make all the important medicinal requirements available.
The children’s savings and financial literacy program was another policy which was introduced. According to the policy each child will receive $1000 to $500 as their savings and $500 in shares. The policy is scheduled to commence from September month of this year, in 2024.
Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew made his statement regarding the meeting and said that the labour administration is serious about the well-being of ALL of our children.

Drew also highlighted that it is arguably among the best set of policies for children’s well-being anywhere in the world.
Observing the ongoing June 2024 Child Month, Minister of Education – Dr. Geoffrey Hanley has also addressed the nation and highlighted that it is an opportunity for the federation to showcase the genius youngsters their talent.

Minister Hanley also enlightened that in 2024, St. Kitts and Nevis is observing the child month under the theme to embrace inclusion, every child counts.
Considerably, the theme is very special for him as every child in the country deserves to feel valued and get a chance to grow into a wonderful human being.

Adding up to his statement the education minister said that every child has a unique contribution towards the island nation that makes them indeed a special one and that is why every individual must not overlook any child around them.
