St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew met with the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom – Sir Tony Blair. They had pleasure meeting on September 26, 2024.
During the meeting they had meaningful discussions. Following this the former UK Prime Minister presented a signed copy of his book, “Tony Blair On Leadership: Lessons for the 21st Century”.
PM Drew also shared the glimpses of the meeting and expressed that he had the opportunity to meet with the former Prime Minister of UK – Sir Tony Blair and engaged in a meaningful discussion on several pertinent topics.
He expressed the brief included meaningful discussions that were focussed on key issues of global leadership and development happening in the 21st Century.
Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Drew also mentioned that at the conclusion of the meeting the former UK PM presented him with his latest book, titled, “Tony Blair On Leadership: Lessons for the 21st Century”.
The book is a leadership manual that Tony Blair wishes he had when he became the Prime Minister. It includes the personal insights and global examples that show aspiring leaders how to go from talking about change to actually making change.
In this manual Blair also included the percepts of governing the hard way: by leading a country for more than ten years, that he learnt during that time.
The book also reflected the extensive experience of Blair gained in global politics and leadership, that highlights the valuable insights for today’s world leaders.
Considering this, PM Drew extended his gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the former UK Prime Minister. He appreciated the leadership legacy of Tony Blair and his continued contribution to international dialogue on governance and policy-making scheme.
Dr. Drew also shared the photographs from the meeting on his Instagram and X handle. The book consists of the advice on political leadership that he would have received when he first took the office in the year 1997.
Through this book he shared the insights that he has gained from his personal experiences and from observing the other world leaders at first hand, majorly when he was prime minister and since, through his Institute’s work with political leaders and government globally.
