St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew visited Ottley’s to inspect the construction site of 20 climate-smart houses on Nov 30, 2024. He toured the site along with Ambassador Leon Natta-Nelson and the leadership of East Coast development.
Upon visiting the site, PM Drew shared the photographs from there and confirmed that the construction work on the important project has now begun.
While sharing the photos on his official social media handle Prime Minister Drew stated, “I visited Ottley’s with Ambassador Leon Natta-Nelson and the leadership of East Coast Development.”
Confirming the beginning of the work he said, “the work has begun on 20 climate-smart houses.”
Dr. Drew also highlighted the objectives behind constructing these climate-smart houses and said that it is a great initiative which will create many jobs. He acknowledged the project and emphasized that the 20 climate-smart houses will provide home to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Prime Minister said, “This initiative is creating many jobs and providing houses for our people.”
Notably, 20 climate-smart houses are under construction as a part of the National Housing Cooperation (NHC) project in St. Kitts and Nevis. It aims to provide affordable houses to the citizens of the nation.
Considering this, PM Drew extended his gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister – Dr. Geoffrey Hanley and his team for their incredible efforts. He expressed, “I would like to thank Deputy PM Dr. Geoffrey Hanley who has been working hard.”
In addition to this, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis also appreciated others who are involved in this great project. Drew said, “I extend my gratitude to NHC, SKELEC, the Water Department, as well as Sustainable Development and the Prime Minister’s Office.”
Furthermore, the project was announced under the affordable SMART Homes initiative. The houses are being constructed as part of the roll-out of the largest and first-of-its-kind housing initiative.
