The prime minister of Israel, Yair Lapid, shared a letter by the commander in chief for IDF (Israel Defense Forces) in appreciation to the Israeli soldiers.
He stated that the Israeli army work by the ethics of the law and is full of hope, which is the source of their nation’s power.
PM Lapid further stated that the IDF (Israeli Defence forces) has been working from day one to protect the nation from both internal and external conflicts.
The army has been successfully preventing the deadly attacks that any enemy has committed through a professional and ethical approach.
He said that IDF officers working day and night deserve appreciation for their work while executing strategies in the most complex situations.
Furthermore, IDF has been operating within the limits of professionalism, legal bounds and ethical conduct. Yet, unfortunately, several incidents have happened, causing violent outcomes towards the people of Israel and Palestinian territories, including the incident of last week.
The IDF uses force within the limits of law and order under a particular situation; unless not necessary, the IDF does not act or operate through violence.
Moreover, as per the letter, IDF possesses all the necessary tools and power to handle a difficult situation under any circumstances, but they are only advised to use such force when necessary.
He noted that Israeli Defence Forces do not act in bad faith if something goes south, which is unethical and out of the law is highly illegal and unvalued.
Additionally, PM Lapid appreciates Israeli soldiers by acknowledging the hard times they serve during their duties. He said that he is well aware of the fact that the soldiers have to work in demanding and burdened situations that they face every day,
but when they add the right balance to the use of force through mindfulness and professionalism, it turns them into warriors and reflects a commander’s qualities.
He further stated that not every soldier works by ethics, and those who don’t would be put under extreme punishments for their wrongful behaviours.
Lapid pointed out an incident last weekend when a soldier from the IDF, driven by his political view and stance, did not conduct himself according to the IDF but also hurt the values of statehood.
By such an incident, Lapid expressed that the IDF is the ‘people’s army, a state’s army with no place in political considerations and expressions.
The IDF soldiers only act and perform their duties when necessary, when the mission calls and when the threat to Israeli civilians is before the nations. Lapid added. Every action the IDF executes is followed by integrity, facts and proper representations.
Moreover, the character and behaviour of an IDF soldier are essential to preserving, and the unit commander is responsible for operating and maintaining the army’s ethics. A commander is known as the face of the company and should be in a position to make decisions.
PM Lapid pointed out the primary traits of IDF: their values and ethics are the organisation’s roots. Along with their belief in fighting the enemy and fighting for our image – fight and stay human, win and stay human.
