Egypt: The Minister of Environment, Yasmin Fouad, recently visited the Suez Gulf Area, where she toured and inspected the entire site, after which Yasmin Fouad joined hands with Minister of Oil, Engineer Tariq Al Mulla, inaugurated the first-ever smart processing plant in Egypt and the Middle east.
As per the recent updates, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad was accompanied by the Ministry of oil and took the step to open the first-ever smart treatment plant in the Middle East with the goal and vision of solving water problems related to drilling oil wells for the facilities that spill on the Suez Gulf by Al-Amal Oil Company.
In addition, Minister Yasmin Fouad stated that the operations were started on an experimental basis within the framework of the country’s efforts to reach the goal of environmental compatibility to preserve resources.
On her part, Egyptian Environment Minister Fouad took it to convey that environmental protection should be a national priority for every state citizen to continue implementation following the COP27 climate conference in the presence of several leaders from the Ministry of Environment, Oil and company workers.
Moreover, the Minister of the Environment also explained that the smart processors are easy to operate and maintain and are specifically designed to achieve maximum efficiency and ensure the highest quality standards and climate tolerance according to the station’s site.
The smart processors were further described as not requiring construction and infrastructure compared to traditional processing plants Because the station is only inside containers and installed on a concrete base.
Overall, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad confirmed that the station was implemented through the joint and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Oil under the supervision and direction of the Head of the departments.
She further added that the efforts were crowned of the Egyptian state in preserving the maritime environment in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea within the framework of the actions of the Ministry of Environment.

In the end, Minister Fouad concluded her visit and opening of the smart processing plant and called it a significant step that Al-Amal Oil Company in the Red Sea has completed the implementation of the water treatment plant associated with the drilling of oil wells with a design card of 1000 cubic meters per day at the cost of more than $ 8 million.
