Dominica: The DA Sports Vybez organization has conveyed a message from Coach Albert Wang Titre in which he addressed the need and importance of the bigger and senior names in the DFA (Dominican Football Association) and Football.

The need for ideal senior players and leaders in Dominica’s sports fraternity is at a peak that could turn them into top leaders and direct the way of sports in Dominica towards a positive journey.

The DA Sports Vybez organization strives to enhance and promote sports in the Commonwealth of Dominica, pushing potential athletes forward in their sports careers.

The management of DA Sports further added that the sports in Dominica positively affect the young talent in Dominican sports.

Coach Albert Wang Titre added in his message to the Dominican football players that the effort and hard work they will put today into their work ethics and game, along with the way of conducting themselves, will also reflect in the young generations of the players.

In his remarks, Titre further conveyed that “One of the things in which the sports fraternity in Dominica is lacking is failing in producing top quality leaders and players, those who can also lead others by example and willing to step up for the occasion to take responsibility”.

Furthermore, during his message, Albert Titre raised an important question regarding the title of senior and leaders in the game and addressed that, most of the time, when these so-called leaders and senior players surround some junior player,

they take the backseat and allow those self-acclaimed leaders to be in the forefront and the limelight, but are these senior players doing enough for the sport and their juniors?

Moreover, Coach Titre mentioned several situations which get raised sometimes in a team environment which should be addressed by the senior players and leaders; which read as follows,

“We need senior players representing the youth.

We hear players complaining in their clubs.

“I don’t like how things are running, etc.”

In such situations, Titre said,” There is a need for the senior players to step up and call meetings with the club’s Board of Directors and not just step back during such scenarios which require action from the leaders.

In addition, the players sometimes complain about the FA, and We need the senior players to form a Players Association. Walk up as professionals and represent the youth for their better future along with themselves”.

Additionally, DA Sports also pointed out that the average top player in Dominica leaves the sport and seldom comes back to contribute. Coach Titre added, “I want to commend Glenson Prince for organizing goalkeeper training for the youth; THE OUTCOME OF the NEXT GENERATION DEPENDS ON YOU, THE PRESENT SENIOR PLAYERS”.

Following the end, Coach Albert Wang Titre conveyed his observation of some incidents and noted, “I saw the talents of the senior Players while on national team duties; you guys were going to the schools, educating the youth, and You don’t only have to do that on a national level.”

He concluded by saying that “Again, form a Players Association. Senior players can start within their clubs; ask the coach for a day to speak to the different divisions within the club.

The senior players can lead their clubs to discuss with schools and the youth within the community. We need leaders, and if we do these things, we will produce quality

athletes in the future.”
