Egypt: The Minister of Environment Yasmin Fouad witnesses the inauguration of the first fully electric car of Abu Ghaly Motors Group yesterday, 10 February 2023. A real transformation in all means of transportation from electric buses in Sharm El Sheikh city.
During the inauguration event, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad stated that solidarity and partnership between the government and private sector represented a symphony that attracted the attention of the whole world during the COP27 climate conference.
In addition, Minister Yasmin Fouad emphasizes providing all support to the private sector along with the Abu Ghali initiative to inaugurate the first electric car. Stressful about the need for this to be the beginning.
She further noted that, along with the support of the President of the Republic, we work to encourage such initiatives. We hope that the beginning of the next year will be a certificate for the inauguration of the first electric car practically manufactured in Egypt.
“Government is working in partnership with the private sector in 3 initiatives by working to spread cycling culture, sustainable mass transport and transition to electric vehicles,” cited Minister Fouad. According to the reports, the inauguration of the first fully electric car by Abu Ghali Motors Group, in the presence of Dr Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, Engr. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Engr. Maher Abu Ghali, President of Abu Ghali Motors.
During her participation, Yasmin Fouad, the Minister of the Environment, expressed her sincere happiness to participate and highlight the latest technologies in the field of sustainable transport, which is electric mobility.
Additionally, she noted that the launch of the first electric car in Egypt seems a simple event but represents an important step as one of the most important paths of green transformation. “The electric car industry and sustainable transport General, which is the most important priorities of the Egyptian government, and it is meticulously sponsored by His Excellency the President of the Republic,” said reports.
Furthermore, Minister Fouad added that the global event organized by the Arab Republic of Egypt at the end of last year, the climate conference COP27, witnessed full participation from all sides of the state, the private sector, civil society, youth and women.
The climate conference referred to the launch of two initiatives during the meeting, namely the new and renewable energy initiative and the fair transition of energy without affecting economic development and work A gradual transformation of new and renewable energy from solar, wind, green hydrogen and also clean energy in electric cars which are one of the hubs of new and renewable power.
Notably, the Minister of the Environment emphasized providing all support to the private sector and full support of the government by offering incentives, stressing the necessity that this is the beginning as we work to encourage such initiatives wishing success.
