Iran’s Foreign Minister meets senior officials of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amirabdollahian, currently on visit to Lebanon, met with leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The meeting was held in Beirut city on 14 October. Officials from the Palestinian Authority were also present during the meeting.

Before visiting the Beriut, he visited Baghdad. The issue of Palestine was the main agenda of the meeting. The ongoing war had erupted between Israel and Palestine when Hamas militants launched a sudden Rocket strike on Israel last Saturday. Hamas termed this attack as an operation “Al-Aqsa flood”.

The Palestinian official reaffirmed that the attack of Hamas on Israel was an obvious reaction against the atrocities of the Israeli occupation authorities.
They also said that despite the unethical, inhuman activities being carried out by the Zionist regime against Gazans, but resistance groups are countering the regime’s aggression.

Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Foreign Minister, said that the people of Palestine have a legal right to carry weapons and fight  against the occupation authorities.

The Foreign Minister further added that even many Western countries support the point that the operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” was just a natural reaction against the aggresive policies of the Israeli prime Minister.

He also specifically mentioned that Western officials also admitted that the Palestine issue could not be finished with the use of force; rather, there is a need to resolve the issue with dialogue only.

It is worth mentioning that Iran’s Foreign Minister also warned Israel to stop strikes against civil populations. Moreover, as per FM, if Israel continues its war against Gaza, there is the possibility that the war could spread to many other parts of the region.

FM said if war spreads to another part, it will destabilise the geopolitics of the whole Middle East region. It is noteworthy that Israel launched the attack on Syrian airports also . Israel although claimed that the attack on Syria was to deter Iran from supporting or supplying ammunition to Hamas through Syria.

Meanwhile, top Iranian officials also underscored the efforts of Iran to end the ongoing conflict between both countries to bring normalcy in the Middle East.
