Prime Minister of Iraq Shia Al-Sudani, who is in Cairo for the “Cairo Summit For Peace”, met Mikhail Bogdanov, deputy foreign minister of Russia. He met the Russian foreign minister on the sidelines of the “Cairo Summit For Peace”.
During this bilateral meeting, the Palestine issue was the main agenda. Both leaders called for joint efforts for a peaceful solution to the problem of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The Prime Minister strongly advocated that joint efforts are necessary to end this unjust war. Moreover, he asked the deputy foreign minister of Russia to put pressure at the international level, being a member of the United States Security Council.
PM, during this meeting highlighted that the zionist entity attacked the unarmed common civilians. Recent attacks on hospitals were also found mention in the discussion of both leaders. Notably, last week, when a rocket hit the hospital, a large number of people lost their precious lives who were taking shelter in the hospital. Moreover, there were many children who became victims of the hospital attack. Attack on the hospital attract worldwide condemnation.
Iraqi’s Prime Minister also apprised the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia about many initiatives being taken by Iraq to bring normalcy in the region. Iraq is also doing its best effort to ensure the safe passage of Humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.
On the other part, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia conveyed the greeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Iraqi Prime Minister. He added that Russia appreciates the initiative of Iraq for peace and stability in the region.
He also expressed that Russia has always been a supporter of the peaceful conflict among the Israel-Hamas. Additionally, he said that if the conflict is not stopped here, it could have a ripple effect on many other countries in the region. He also condemned the attack on the hospitals, causing the loss of thousands of human lives.
