Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the united arab Emirates, and President Aliyev further discussed how bilateral relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan can be improved, particularly in areas of vital investment, economic, developmental, and renewable energy sectors.

These are important sectors that hold great significance for both countries and align with the priorities of both countries in achieving sustainable development.

The President of Azerbaijan appreciated the key developmental projects being implemented by the United Arab Emirate in Azerbaijan. He said that these development projects will define the new progressive journey of his country, Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani president also highlighted the Garadagh Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant, being developed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) in Azerbaijan. This project, with a production capacity of 230 megawatts is the largest operational power plant of its kind, not just in the country but also in the region.

It is important to know that this project is the first independent solar energy project based on foreign investment in Azerbaijan.
The Garadagh Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant in Azerbaijan was inaugurated sometime before the beginning of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) which was  hosted by the UAE in November.

This COP28 event represents the significant contributions of the United Arab Emirates for accelerating global efforts in identifying sustainable solutions and advancing climate action.
