Today, December 29, the Ministry of Environment Egypt released a video clip which reflects all the efforts and hard work done by the Ministry of Environment to enhance the efficiency of Solid Waste Treatment. A recycling plant in Mahalla El Kubra is set up under National Solid Waste Management Program.
The Minister of Environment, Yasmin Fouad, said, “The ministry aims to apply an integrated waste management system to improve the level of service and follow up operation plans to ensure sustainability on a scientific and professional basis”.
As per the sources, Dr Yasmin Fouad, the Minister of Environment, has introduced a framework focused on implementing the work plan of the National Program to improve the efficiency of the municipal waste treatment and recycling plant in the city of Mahalla El-Kubra, Western Governorate of Egypt.
Furthermore, to follow up the operation plans to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of its management on a scientific and professional basis, the Ministry of the Environment, through the National Solid Waste Management Program, obtained material.
Moreover, a video film reflecting the efforts of the ministry to increase the efficiency of the factory of waste management system was recorded and shared with the people of Egypt. The waste management system was launched in the four governorates of the country within the scope of the program (Al-Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Assiut and QnA)
As per recent information, the framework of the tasks of the President of the Republic Abdul Fattah El-Sisi aims to promote the integrated system of solid municipal waste management in various governorates to improve the level of service and general hygiene to return the aesthetic shape of cities, centres and villages.
The film reviewed special measures taken to improve the efficiency of the factory since its establishment to treat the amounts of waste generated daily from the centre and city of Mahalla.
The efficient work of the Solid Waste Management factory includes collecting and transferring to the Mahalla factory by the residents, contractors and community societies, and then final disposal of it in the health cemetery in Sadat.
The factory occupies an area of 9.5 acres and has a design capacity of 30 Ton/hour; through the national program, two lines were supplied and installed in 2019 at a total cost of 7.30 million pounds to raise absorption power to 800 tons daily. Said Fouad.
The recorded film also ensured what was supported by the province by the national program of 8.5 million pounds to lift accumulations at the factory. The program provided implementing training courses for its employees on the operation and maintenance of the equipment in its various departments and submitted the operation plan to the factory.
The supply and installation of the new line Through the new waste management system of the Ministry of Environment and in collaboration with The Ministry of Local Development and Military Production have a design capacity of 320 tons per day to reach 1120 tons per day.
The sources conveyed that it is planned for the factory to receive the municipal waste of the Samannoud Center and city after moving it to the new central station in Samannoud. The waste of the centre and the town of Mahalla El Kubra after the completion of the development and construction of the kidney for the factory.
In the end, the Minister of Environment, Fouad, stated, “The National Program for Solid Waste Management of the Ministry’s Waste Management Organization is one of the most important waste management projects that aims to establish an effective and sustainable solid waste management system.”
She added, “To preserve the environment and public health and worked in four governorates (Kafr al-Sheikh, Gh) Rabia, Qena Wasiut) and the program is funded by several places, which is the agency.
