The fourth wave of COVID-19 is already blowing worldwide, and it is anticipated that it will impact less as compared to the previous wave.
However, Iran hit harder on February 7 Monday because the country recorded 100 new deaths in a day due to the COVID-19 variant and the aggressive omicron variant spreading in the country.
As per the reports, 104 patients died from the disease since Sunday, and the announcement made by the Islamic Republic of 85 new deaths over a day.
And the Monday counting was doubled as compared to February 1 Tuesday, and the death toll was also 50 that day.
Iran’s official count on COVID deaths reached 132,934, so the country has the highest national toll in the Middle East.
As per Iran officials, 80 percent of the population above 18 are fully vaccinated with both doses, and 27 percent are those who also took their third dose.
Furthermore, authorities stated that the powerful omicron variant is now predominant in the country and also gave indications to the hospitals to prepare for a new wave of hospitalisations.
According to ‘Nader Tavakkoli‘ a health official in the Tehran region, we see a 10-15 percent increment daily in their cases.
As per the Monday report, 2,615 patients were in critical condition and 220 more than on Sunday.
Since Sunday, health professionals have registered 39,819 new cases and about 4,390 more than reported that day.
On February 6 Sunday, Health Minister ‘Bahram Einollahi’ requested people to follow all the health measures, such as wearing masks and following all protocols of social distancing.
However, only half of the population are seriously following the rule & regulations.
Unfortunately, the sixth wave of the COVID-19 is also started, and we are in the mid of the sixth wave. They further stated that they estimated the surge’s peak in two or three weeks.
Some 50 legislators in Iran’s parliament have come in touch with the virus. The room has 290 seats.
