KUWAIT: The Kuwait health ministry confirmed on 17 February Thursday 1,501 new COVID-19 infections along with one recent death during the past 24 hours.
As per the statement given by ministry spokesperson ‘Dr Abdullah Al Sanad’, he stated that the total number of infections increased to 609,453, along with the death toll, which reached 2,525.
He further stated that the recoveries from COVID-19 rose to 580,056 after the confirmation of 4,253 new rescues.
However, after reporting so many cases of coronavirus still, the government of Kuwait is all ready to allow non-vaccinated Kuwaiti residents to travel and return back to Kuwait from Sunday.
And those passengers who are not vaccinated and did not even receive any vaccination or not completed with their booster shots as well, but they have to submit their negative PCR certificate valid for only 72 hours before boarding the flight.
Nearly 45 countries are allowed non vaccinated travellers in their country, and most of these countries only require PCR negative certificates before coming to their countries.
In contrast, some countries demand PCR tests after their arrival with a proper 12-14 days quarantine period, whereas some countries do not impose any such conditions.
Countries that do not have any restrictions are Norway and Jordan.
Countries that require PCR restrictions:
Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, China, Ethiopia, Egypt, Guinea, HongKong, India, Ivory, Coast, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Syria, Sweden, Seychelles, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, SouthKorea, Tanzania, Taiwan, Turkey, UAE, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Countries that require PCR restrictions and quarantine:
Britain, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Italy, Qatar, Romania, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Thailand.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in its circular to all airlines working at Kuwait International Airport, only non-vaccinated Kuwaiti citizens can enter Kuwait.
The fully vaccinated passengers do not need a PCR test before their arrival, and they do not need PCR testing, even if they do not need home quarantine.
Children below the age of 16 yrs are excluded from the above requirement. They even urged all those passengers who wanted to come to Kuwait need to take a Rapid Test at home if they were facing any symptoms of COVID.
