Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health and Chairman of the Bahraini Council for Medical Studies and Specialties, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain pays full attention to the health sector and strives to achieve sustainability and excellence in the delivery of health services, in line with the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the great country, may God protect and protect him, and the government directives headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of the Cabinet, may God protect him.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa clarified that the Government of Bahrain is keen to increase the absorption capacity of medical training and provide them with appropriate opportunities, believing in the key role of medical training in uplifting the competence of Bahraini doctors, reflecting on the quality of healthcare.

This came the announcement of the Bahraini Council for Medical Studies and Specialties, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Labor Fund (Empowered) to launch the “Resident Doctor” programme by the Arab Board and Saudi Board, through which admission to training vacancies for the academic year 2023-2024 in various human medicine disciplines.

Sheikh Mohammed indicated during the announcement of the programme launch that the doors for applications for training vacancies will be open from Monday, 11/9/2023, until 17/9/2023, to be applied via the electronic link on the Ministry of Health website, indicating that the opening of training will cover a range of specialties, namely: internal diseases, pathology, nose and ear Throat, Gynecology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia and Intensive Care, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatric Medicine, Accident and Emergency, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Cosmetic Surgery, Urinary Tract Surgery, Brain Neuro Surgery, Family Medicine.
