This came during the press conference, which was held yesterday afternoon, to announce the calendar of competitions Al-Ittihad for the next season, 2022-2023, which will start in the Premier League on August 25 and will be held in 3 sections with the participation of 10 clubs that will be distributed after the end of the second section, where the top six play for the title. , while the last four teams compete to avoid relegation to the third division (supplement).

As for the first division, it will start on the 28th of the same month, while the “Super Cup” match will be held on November 6, then the league will stop due to the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Al-Mutairi added: “For the champions of the First Division and the Federation Cup, the award will be determined at the meeting of the Board of Directors, which will be held this week, during which the date of the draw for the league will also be determined.”

For his part, the Director of the Competitions Committee in the Federation, Dr. Hamid Al-Shaibani, indicated that the Emir’s Cup and the Crown Prince’s Cup would be held in the same regulation as last season through two groups. The first group includes, in both competitions, 7 clubs, including the champion of the edition. The last “Arab” club, while the second group includes 8 teams, including the league champion “Kuwait”.

He announced that His Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup will start on October 18, while His Highness the Amir Cup will start on January 23, 2023, with Kazma heading the first group because he is the title holder, while “Kuwait” will be in the second group as the league champion.

Al-Shaibani added: “The Competitions Committee has set a date for the Super Cup between Kazma and Kuwait on November 6, after which the league will be suspended due to the establishment of the 2022 World Cup after holding only one round after the Super match to give the opportunity for professional players whose countries qualified for the World Cup to join their teams.”

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Federation, Salah Al-Qena’i, stressed that the advisory team led by the Belgian Michel Sablon is entrusted with developing and implementing the strategy, and there will be a great role for national competencies in implementing it and working to solve problems.

On the issue of tickets for fans to watch the matches, he replied: “Organizing the league competition through the first and second rounds is a matter for the clubs that host the matches in their stadiums, and as for the supplement competitions, they will be organized by the federation, and tickets for the matches will be offered.”

Abdul Jalil: A strategy for the buds until 2030

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Federation for Competitions and Teams Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel-Jalil, stressed that the federation’s goal is to build a good base on which national teams can be relied upon after the Sunni stages suffered a significant decline during the past two years due to the “Corona” crisis.

He added: “During the last season, the technical level of the players was not at the required level.

Abdul Jalil called on clubs to appoint the appropriate technical, administrative and medical devices for the buds category.

A new mechanism for the most expensive cups and “super” competitions

The Competitions Committee announced a new mechanism that will be adopted in the two most expensive cup competitions, the Emir’s Cup and the Crown Prince’s Cup, during the 2023-2024 season, by relying on the clubs’ ranking in the Premier League table as well as the first degree.

In the Prince’s Cup, teams will be “housed” through a pre-set schedule of matches.

As for the Crown Prince Cup, the teams will be divided into three groups, with the top three from each group qualifying, with the best second-placed team qualifying, then a lottery will be drawn to determine the two semi-final matches.

As for the “Super Cup”, it will be between 4 teams, are the league champion, the runner-up, the Emir Cup champion and the Crown Prince Cup new system 10 clubs play two divisions.

Then the clubs are divided into two groups, the first consisting of the top 6 and the second 4 clubs.

Each club keeps its number of points and plays a separate league (supplement) among the top 6.

The same applies to the 4 teams, of which 2 will be relegated to the First Division.

The goal of this system is to increase the number of matches for players based on the recommendations of foreign experts who were recently contracted by the federation.
