Bahrain: The Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr Jaleela Jawad Hassan, has recently hosted the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Middle East Region, Dr Ahmed bin Salem Al-Munzari and discussed several common interests and matters of mutual understanding. 

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the work and commencement of the (seventy-sixth) 76th session of the World Health Association (WHA), held in Geneva.

According to the shared information, the Ministry of Health of Bahrain took to its official social media handle to update regarding the recently held meeting over several important topics. 

In addition, it was observed that Minister of Health Jaleela Hassan expressed joy and happiness regarding her participation in the meeting with the Regional Director of WHO, Ahmed Al-Manzari. 

On her part, she extended the greetings to her counterpart for the meeting. At the beginning of the joint meeting, the Minister of Health, Jaleela Hassan, welcomed Ahmed Al-Manzari, citing the role played by the regional office and the level of cooperation and coordination that has contributed to the realization and highlighting many successes, achievements, projects and priority health programs.

The Minister of Health, in light of the fruitful results achieved, emphasized the importance of continuing to activate the framework of cooperation with the regional office in order to maintain the level of comprehensive health coverage, strengthen preventive plans, proactive response and keep up with various updates related to epidemiological surveillance, countering and existing chronic diseases and limiting their spread in the countries of the region.

“During the joint meeting, the Regional Director of WHO, Ahmed Al-Manzari, praised the outstanding efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain within its health system and the leading model it offers at the regional and global levels. 

It was also stated by Ahmed Al Manzari that keeping up with the latest global developments in the health sector is also considered a significant accomplishment of the Bahraini Minister of Health. 

Furthermore, the reports also said that during the meeting, a number of top topics of mutual interest were also researched and reviewed, as well as various global health developments and updates were discussed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr Ahmed Al-Manzari expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Health, wishing all health sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain all the best and success in continuing to achieve progress.

He added that the WHO wishes positive implementation of comprehensive development plans and to continue to cooperate with the WHO to achieve the goals and aspirations of the health sector.
