Tehran: Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister of Iran, called Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas. During their phone conversation, both leaders discussed the latest situation in the Gaza Strip. They also have discussed issues relating to the deaths of civilians in conflict zones.
During the discussion, options were also reviewed to cease the Zionist crime; no further details have been disclosed by either side.
It is to be specifically added that the Foreign Ministers of Iran had already held telephone conversations with top leadership of the region, including Samesh Shoukry, to halt the atrocities against the unarmed civilians. Notably, in the attacks by the Israeli defence forces, many children also become victims of violence and lose their lives.
A spokesperson of Iran’s foreign ministry said on the 16th of October 2023 that Iran is ready to provide all necessary help to the innocent people of Gaza. He also noted that, as of now, there is only one passage to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and that is the Rafah border between southern Gaza and Egypt.
It is to be noted that the ongoing war began after the sudden attack of Hamas against Isreal under the name of Al Aqsa Flood operation, and to retaliate, Israel also initiated Operation Iron Sword. Till now large number of casualties have been reported from both sides.
Last week, there was an attack on the hospital located in the Gaza Strip, which attracted worldwide condemnation. Interestingly, both warring sides blamed each other for this attack on the hospital. It is also worth mentioning that after the launch of the operation, Israel also ordered a complete siege over the Gaza belt. Israel stopped supplies of water, oil, gas, etc.
In the beginning, Israel refused to provide any passage for Humanitarian aid. UNO chief also called Israel to give safe passage to Humanitarian assistance. Israel now allowed limited aid to Gaza.
