As the attacks of cyber criminals are increasing, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior issued guidelines. Ministry warned to take precautionary measures at the time of online activities.
The Ministry of Interior took to social media to spread cyber security awareness. The ministry’s official also said that with the increase in cybercrime, only awareness among the general public could reduce the rate of these types of crime.
On social media posts, people are advised to verify any link before the click. Moreover, if there seems to be any suspected link, one should immediately inform to cyber crime branch.
People should also regularly update their antivirus software on all electronic gadgets, especially mobile and computers on which internet connections are active. Similarly, people should not visit illegal and unauthorized websites.
Sometimes, these unknown links prove to be hidden viruses. Once clicked, virus can steal all the confidential and private information of personal computers.
Guidelines also advised that passwords should be regularly changed. Long use of any single password also makes the devices more vulnerable and risky. Precautions also included to back up the data.
As per the experts, backing up data is the best way to keep data safe on the other devices in case of any cyber attack on electronic gadgets.
The peole who are less literate or not used to safety procedures got trapped in the trap of cyber criminals. The Ministry of Interior further advised the people that they should share this information with others.
Moreover, all people should get themself familiar with cyber-related information. Cybercriminals are difficult to caught because, most of the time, they are located in distant places or sometimes different countries.
At the international level, many countries are struggling to tackle this global threat. The ministry is also planning to organize seminars in educational, training colleges, institutions, etc.
