Dominica: After the convincing victory of the West Indies Cricket team over the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the West Indies Cricket Board media has honoured renowned right-hand batsman from the Commonwealth of Dominica Kavem Ajoel Rakem Hodge following his clinical performance at his debut.

As per the recent information, Dominican-based cricketer Kavem Hodge made his debut with fellow cricketer and fast bowler Dominic Drakes from Barbados during a One Day International (ODI) match played between West Indies and UAE yesterday.

It was stated that West Indies claimed a one-sided victory over UAE by chasing down the target of 202 runs in the 36th over with 88 balls left and 7 wickets in hand.

Following the end of the match, both the debutants were called for an interview with the West Indies Cricket media and asked about their experience while representing West Indies Cricket Team.

During their interview, Dominican batsman Kavem Hodge and Dominic Drakes expressed their immense happiness and excitement for being part of the West Indies Cricket team. They expressed gratitude for the chance to represent the team at the international level.

In his remarks, while answering the interviewer about the experience of playing for the West Indies, Hodge stated that it had been a dream come true moment for him.

He mentioned that it was an amazing feeling and has been a childhood goal to represent the West Indies Cricket team on the global stage. In his bowling spell, Hodge conceived 28 runs in 6 overs with an economy rate of 4.67, per the statistics.

“Playing for the West Indies team was an aspiration from my childhood,” he stated. Furthermore, Hodge also commented on his bowling spell and called it a great opportunity to contribute to the team; he also said that it was a good spell that he got in the powerplay despite getting any wickets.

In his remarks, playing as an allrounder, he also commended the batting line-up for their exceptional performance during the match.

“I am grateful for the opportunity thus far,” Hodge added. The reports stated that, on the other hand, Dominic Drakes picked up 2 wickets during his spell and called it a great experience while mentioning the hot playing conditions of the UAE. Moreover, he said that two more matches would be played in the series and aims to play with consistency and hard work.

He added that “We are trying to set high standards and just keep moving up and up and aim to win the series with 3-0.” Additionally, Dominican allrounder Kavem Hodge also expressed their plans for the upcoming ODI World Cup later this year. He stated that the team is moving towards the right direction with the right approach ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, he also shared a few things and chats that he had with the skipper. He said the skipper told him to keep pushing forward while maintaining a positive mindset and healthy environment. He concluded that the team is in a good frame of mind and looking to seal the clean sweep of the series with 3-0.
