Egypt: The Ministry of Environment has shared an update that the Egyptian Post was awarded the EDGE International Certificate of Excellence and Innovation on the occasion of Developing the Historic Aswan Post Office in Egypt.
As per the recent information, Egyptian Post has received the Certificate of Excellence in Design for Enhancement (EDGE) from the International Council for Green Building, with the support and cooperation of the International Financing Agency.
In addition, the authorities at Egyptian Post have stated that due to its excellence in designing and developing the historic Aswan building and post office by relying on the best ways of sustainability, environmental conservation and energy saving.
The reports have conveyed that the Egyptian Post was awarded the International Certificate of Excellence in crowning its efforts to combat, reduce its impacts and boost its capacity for transitioning to a green economy.
As per the management, “Relying and using the latest sustainable architecture systems aimed at reducing negative impacts on the environment and boosting the efficiency of using resources and energy to conserve the environment, in accordance with the Postal Sharing Egyptian in the initiative of the World Postal Union to reduce carbon emissions in the world”.
Furthermore, The Egyptian Post’s certification came after the building passed carbon reduction tests during and after implementation. The building achieved 33% energy saving and 25% water consumption, using 52% energy-saving building materials.
“The historic building and post office of Aswan had been restored and developed keeping in mind its historic features, environmentally friendly technology was used along with the addition of modern design elements to make the building unique and expressive Iraq and development,” said sources.
“The presented Certification has enabled developers to quickly identify the most cost-effective ways to reduce energy, water and renewable energy use in the building. The International Council for Green Building handles certification in more than 160 countries”, concluded reports.
