China: China has continued to import agricultural-industrial products from Russia at a substantially growing rate jumping from 44pc last year, as per the reports of Russia Today.

As per the recent data analysis conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agroexport Centre in Russia, the agro-industrial imports from China have increased by 36pc in terms of physical volume. In addition, the reports also confirmed that China had secured its position as the largest importer of agricultural and food products from Russia, which was lost in 2021.

Furthermore, China lost its largest buyer’s position in 2021. On the other hand, the first place was captured by European Union for the past two years as the largest importer of agricultural goods from Russia.

Additionally, China has been the leading importer of other goods from Russia, such as rapeseed oil, beef, poultry meat, soybeans, oats, flaxseeds, etc. As per the reports. Moreover, China has remained the top buyer of Russian honey alongside linseed oil for a long time.

Over the past year, Russian exports of rapeseed oil to China have doubled in physical forms, as per the preliminary data published by Federal Customs Service. The reports also claimed that around 70pc share now accounts in East Asian countries of all rapeseed oil exports by Russia.

On the other hand, Fish and seafood shipments have also increased notably, with the total exceeding the volume of nearly 500,000 tons. As per the data, almost 140,000 tons of poultry meat was exported to China last year, which was recorded as 11pc more than in 2021.

The growth rate was 53pc in monetary terms, and China retained the first position among buyers of poultry meat from Russia. Last year, around 40pc of the total physical volume of Russian Poultry meat was exported from this country, reported Agroexport.

Notable, Agroexport added that Russian exports have the potential to expand its supplies to China in the food industry, among which fish and seafood exports are the most promising categories with cereals, meat products and vegetable oils.
