Egypt: The Environment Minister of Egypt, Yasmin Fouad, has recently attended a meeting with the Chairman of the Energy and Environment Committee and a number of Senate Representatives to review a number of important environmental files, said reports.
According to the reports, Minister Dr Yasmin Fouad stated in her remarks, “The Egyptian government puts the environmental file at the top of its priorities despite the continuous crises.” she further confirmed that “The continuation of student awareness programs increases the student’s sense of responsibility towards his environment.”
The reports also confirmed that Dr Yasmin Fouad, Minister of the Environment, held several meetings with Representative Abdul Khaliq Ayad, Chairman of the Senate Energy, Environment and Manpower Committee, Deputy Ali Mehran, Chairman of the Health Affairs Committee of the Senate, and Deputy Dr Heba Makram, Member of the Senate, to discuss several important environmental files.
“The files which including the development of the Suez Governorate Environmentally, legalization of the conditions of health facilities, and awareness programs carried out by the Ministry through the initiatives and campaigns launched, as well as deforestation campaigns, in the presence of Dr Ali Abu Sunnah, the executive head of the Environmental Affairs System, at the Cultural and Educational Center “Beit Cairo” noted Minister Fouad.
At the beginning of the meetings, Dr Yasmin Fouad, the Minister of the Environment, explained the efforts that the Ministry is taking to improve the environmental situation in Egypt, referring to the afforestation campaigns carried out by the Ministry throughout Egypt.
“The campaigns depend on treated sewage water, given Egypt’s water poverty. Her push to plant trees for decoration contributes to beautifying places and propagating green spaces to reduce emissions,” she added.
The Minister of the Environment confirmed to the MPs that the Egyptian government is paying great attention to environmental issues and is doing its best to preserve the environment; despite facing consecutive problems and crises during the past few years, it continued to support the environment file.
Additionally, Dr Yasmin Fouad told the Ministry’s drive to attract more partnerships with the private sector and provide the opportunity for a greater role for civil society organizations, which prompted the Ministry to set up an environmental and climate investment unit to identify the private sector to investment opportunities available in the environment sector.
In her speech, Dr Yasmin Fouad, the Minister of the Environment to Dr Heba Makram, the Deputy Senate, mentioned the Ministry’s efforts to improve the environmental conditions in all governorates, especially in Alexandria Governorate, where many-body inspections for cars and public transport buses are carried out in garages and public roads, especially in the period of black cloud, to detect About polluted cars and taking necessary action to stop the resulting pollution.
