Surprised but true, the person who had dream of being a successful engineer is now the foreign affairs minister of the govt of Yemen. His full name is Hisam Sharif Abdullah, born in Taiz in 1956.. He is married and living with his family, consisting of his wife and three sons.

The same is the story of the present foreign affairs minister of Yemen. He holds a degree in engineering from one of the top universities. The name of the university is Pennsylvania State University In 1983, the university is situated in the United States of America. It is not the end of his academic journey. Mr. Abdulla, in the year of 1988, earned a master’s degree in project administration again from the catholic university of the United States of America.
It is also proven fact that a person with an engineering degree never looks back. The medical and engineering degree rewarded most who entered the medical and engineering field with full zeal.
Very few left their successful careers and turned to the local or national level politics of their respective country. Politics does not always mean dirty politics for gaining personal interest. Politics is a unique profession that provides opportunities to serve the poor and needy.
Talking about his political stint, he started his career after becoming the deputy minister for international planning and cooperation until 2011.
In 2011, he was elected as minister of foreign affairs. On the 7th of December 2011, Mr Abdullah took charge as minister of oil and natural mineral resources under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Salim Basindwash.
Before becoming minister of foreign affairs, he remained minister of higher education and scientific research in cabinet rejig.
In this way, Mr. Abdullah took a brave step to switch his career, which only a few daredevils took.
