Bahrain: The Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr Jaleela Jawad Hassan, inaugurated the works of the Comprehensive Treatment and Prevention of the Acquired Immunovirus “AIDS” Seminar at the King Hamad Hospital yesterday, June 05, 2023. 

As per the reports, the event was held under the auspices of Jaleela Hassan, Minister of Health, and in the presence of Mr David Brownstein of the United States Embassy. 

In addition, the reports stated that the Acquired Immunity Symposium “AIDS” has opened, organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the United States Embassy in Bahrain and King Hamad Hospital – American Dispatch.

Furthermore, during the event and discussion held between the two nations, a number of experts, Speakers and consultants from within and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain took part and contributed towards the seminar. 

At the workshop’s opening, the Minister of Health affirmed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to control the disease and achieve sustainable development goals in the fight against Acquired Immunization Syndrome (AIDS).

The Minister of Health, Jaleela Hassan, further outlined the goal of achieving the vision set out by the WHO (World Health Organization) under the slogan “zero new HIV infections, no discrimination” and zero related deaths With AIDS.”

“This is achieved through no new infections through primary prevention programs, early diagnosis, complication prevention, no AIDS-related deaths through secondary prevention, and no discrimination against people living with the virus, emphasizing fairness and equality,” said the reports.

On her part, the Minister of Health also pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain has joined the United Nations Convention on AIDS, and a national committee for the prevention of AIDS has been formed. It was also stated that a multisectoral strategic plan involving representatives from all relevant parties was delivered to achieve the strategic goals in dealing with the disease.

Health Minister assured that the Kingdom of Bahrain has remained committed to providing the best healthcare services to AIDS patients, and efforts continue to raise awareness among the people and stakeholders to provide optimal care to those living with the disease.
