Iraq PM meets Russian President in Moscow

On 10th October, the Prime Minister of Iraq met the President of Russia. Iraqi PM was on his official visit to Moscow. The meeting was held in the Kremlin province of Russia. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict.

During the bilateral meeting, many issues were discussed , while focussing on the Israel-Palestine conflict. It is to be mentioned that higher officials from both sides were also  present during the meeting.

The other issue that attracted attention during the meeting included the development of a mechanism to promote unity in both countries. Both leaders highlight the importance of smooth bilateral relations.

Smooth relations can pave the way for coordination in vital areas like energy sector , the oil industry, the tourism sector, science and technology, people-to-people contact, etc.

Russian companies’ presence in Iraq was also discussed thoroughly. Russian companies in Iraq are Witnessing a great movement of investment.

The meeting also saw deliberation on  regional and international issues which involved the  both countries mutual interest.

While speaking specifically on the Israel-Hamas conflict, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his stand for the Palestinian cause. The Prime minister asked the Russian President to use its United Nations Security Council membership to  end the conflict.

PM asked the Russian government to put pressure on Israel so that the innocent people of Palestine do not suffer any more.

On the other,  hand  the Russian President talked about the historical relationship between both nations. According to him, the energy sector is a promising field and open for enhancing more historic and productive mutual cooperation.

The President also welcomed Mr Sudanese for participating in the sixth Russian Energy Week forum session scheduled for tomorrow, i.e. 11th October.

The forum represents and provide an opportunity to expand the horizons of the partnerships between the two countries in developing the gas, energy, and oil sector.

After the meeting with the Russian President again assured that Iraq’s PM that Russia always supported the peaceful resolution for  the Israel-Palestine conflict.
