Jordan: Queen Aliya Centre for Cardiovascular Disease and Surgery has recently launched a Respiratory Therapy Course sponsored by the Director General of the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, Dean Dr Youssef Zarigat. The event was held on (Sunday) Today, May 28, 2023, and hosted several medical professionals and authority members.

According to the shared information, the members of the Jordanian Royal Medical Services and Queen Aliya Centre for Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery conducted the event and discussed the importance of the launched course. The authorities have stated that this is an essential step taken in the direction of fighting cardiovascular diseases.

Furthermore, the updates the Royal Medical Services shared noted that “The Director-General of Royal Medical Services, Dean Dr Youssef Zarigat, on Sunday, sponsored the inauguration of a respiratory treatment course at the Queen Alia Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery.”

On his part, the Dean of the RMS, Youssef Zarigat, stressed the need to improve the competence of the respiratory treatment department staff to remain advanced locally and regionally. 

He cited the great interest in this speciality and its importance in private and public medical services at the Queen Alia Centre for Diseases and Wounds.

Director of the Queen Aliya Centre for Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery, Dean Dr Hatem Al-Abadi, talked about the important and leading role of the respiratory department in the heart centre and the development it has reached, and the importance of holding such courses that provide the centre and medical services with a qualified staff of respiratory therapists.

Moreover, in her regards, Director of Nursing and Medical Professions supporting Colonel Basma Al-Zaabi pointed out that this course will provide competent respiratory therapists to all royal medical services hospitals to enable trainees to pass the speciality exam in the Jordanian Nursing Council, which will reflect on their technical and scientific competence.

In the end, the Leading Respiratory Treatment Development Officer, Tariq Al-Tawalba, said that this course is being held to train 31 participants from various royal medical services hospitals. 

He indicated that the course period is nine consecutive months and intensive practical training in various departments of respiratory treatment in Hussein Medical City.
