As the war between Israel and Palestine entered into the sixth consecutive day, international humanitarian and charity groups called for Humanitarian aid corridors to counter the complete blockade of Israel.

International rights groups also warned against the poor state of Hospitals, given the increasing casualties in the Gaza Strip.

A power supply cut in the Gaza Strip caused by Israel’s “total blockade” of the enclave under Israeli control has prompted condemnation and calls from international rights groups for immediate action as “hospitals risk turning into morgs” due to heavy Israeli bomb shelling.

On 11 October, Gaza’s only power plant ran out of fuel and then closed after Israel decided to cut off supplies following a multi-pronged attack by militants of Hamas.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), a medical charitable institution, on Thursday called the escalation a grave danger for large-scale human rights violations.
“As Gaza power supply has been cut down , hospitals lose power, putting newborns in incubators and elderly patients on oxygen at risk. Kidney dialysis stops, and X-ray machines are out of order. Without electricity, hospitals risk becoming morgues,” Fabrizio Carboni, the ICRC’s regional director for the Near and Middle East, stated.

He further added that many Families in the Gaza Strip are already having trouble accessing clean cleaning water. No parent could be forced to give a thirsty child dirty water.

In another statement issued by ICRC, so far, Israel’s bombardment of Gaza following Hamas’s attacks on southern Israel has killed four ICRC staff members.

A representative from al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City on Wednesday told media that Israeli forces have targeted first medical responders who were assisting civilians. Additionally, he also asked the global community to come forward for the help the suffering civilians in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth mentioning that the whole Gaza Strip fell into darkness after the sole power plant ran out of fuel.
