Young Dominican cricket player Earnisha Fontaine of the CBSS (Castle Bruce Secondary School) Dominica has made it into the West Indies Women’s Cricket Under 19 Rising Stars squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s Under 19 World Cup, 2023, which is scheduled to be held in South Africa in January 2023.

The Castle Bruce Secondary School management shared the phenomenal information on their official Facebook account. The management of the school expressed immense happiness and excitement towards the selection of the young Dominican player for the big leagues of the world.

The school management and authorities extended their congratulations to the parents of Earnisha Fontaine on the special occasion. They wished them the best of luck for their daughter’s future career in sports.

The occasion is a proud moment for the parents, and CBSS ((Castle Bruce Secondary School) as Earnisha Fontaine managed to secure her place among the top fifteen players selected for the under-19 Cricket World Cup. ‘’Earsan Fontaine from LaPlaine must be some proud parents!’’ said CBSC management.

As per the recent updates, Earnisha Fontaine will be representing the west Indies under 19 cricket team at the highest level of competition on the global stage of the under 19 Cricket World Cup commencing in January next year.

The world cup squad for the west indies rising star team, selected for the upcoming world cup, is placed in Group C along with Indonesia, Ireland and New Zealand. The three teams will face each other in the group fixtures, and the top team will qualify for the next round.

Followed by the selection process, which was completed recently, the coach of the women under 19 cricket team, Ann Brown, issued a statement addressing the upcoming event, read as follows,   

“The Under 19 women’s T20 World Cup will be an exciting event as it will be the first in women’s cricket at the international level”,. 

She further stated, ’’These series have been able to identify few emerging talents with good potential, talented batters such as Djenaba Joseph, Shunelle Sawh and Trishan Holder who are showing potential to transition to a higher level. We also had excellent performances from the two main spinners, captain Ashmini Munisar and Shalini Samaroo.”
