Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani meets the Chairman of the Islamic Shura Council of Iran, Mr Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, in Tehran during his current official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, both the countries’ officials discussed the importance of bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq in different fields and concerns.
The discussion’s primary focus was mainly on the various sectors that concern both parties in different forms, such as economic, security and cultural levels, which they share with each other.
PM Al Sudani expressed that their relationship with the Republic of Iran has been remarkable for a long time. They emphasized and supported the partnership by securing the two countries’ common interests.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister of Iraq expressed his gratitude and keenness to maintain the longstanding relationship with Iran. He said it was a great honour to visit the Islamic Republic and its friendly neighbour.
Furthermore, PM stated that the roots of connectivity between Iran and Iraq are based on sheer authenticity and respect towards one another.
Moreover, his sovereignty noted that the importance of the relationship between the two legislative authorities in Iraq and Iran holds a great bond, which would strengthen with time. He insisted on cooperation between the two governments.
The Iranian Shoury Council Chairman, Mr Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf, stated on his behalf that he feels proud to communicate with the Republic of Iraq.
He said that two legislative governments have durability in state institutions, along with the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran; parliament and government always stand beside Iraq’s security forces and authorities.
During his visit, The Prime Minister of Iraq, Al Sudani, also met with the first deputy of Iranian President Mohammed Mukhabar. He said they discussed research issues and common interests in the meeting with the deputy President of Iran.
PM Al Sudani also met with several other leaders in Iran during his visit, including the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mr Ali Khamenei.
Sudani was also involved in the extended discussion sessions on various topics accompanied by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi.
