Israel: The Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the largest aerospace and defence company, has recently participated in the Aero India 2023 exhibition being held in Bangalore, India and signed a new agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), an Indian Government-owned aerospace and defence electronics company.
As per the recent updates, the officials from Israel Aerospace Industries have conveyed that the newly signed agreement with Indian Bharat Electronics Limited will emphasize providing the required support and assistance through the services for MR-SAM (Medium Range Surface Air Missile) air-defence system between Indo-Israel governments developed by IAI.
In addition, the authorities from Israel Aerospace Industries have emphasized the bilateral relationship between India and Israel’s defence industries, along with continuously strengthening ties between both countries in terms of air-defence sectors.
Furthermore, “The newly signed defence contract between India and Israel is an essential step taken to move forward in joint direction between both nations which would ensure the enhancement of the defence systems,” said the official from Israel Aerospace Industries.
The cooperation between Israel and Indian defence companies such as IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries) and BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited) have been assisting each other through cooperative measurements and mutual understandings, reported IAI officials.
Moreover, the reports have also explained the MR-SAM (Medium Range Surface Air Missile) air defence system and stated that it is a high response, quick reaction, vertically launched supersonic missile designed to neutralize enemy aerial threats – missiles, aircraft, guided bombs, helicopters and used by Army, Navy and Air Force as different variants.
Notably, both the authorities of IAI and BEL stated the newly signed contract during the agreement-signing event.
They confirmed that it is a significant achievement in the ongoing relationship between IAI and BEL and is part of the Indian government’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (‘Make in India’) vision. “We hope and expect to deepen our connections further in the coming years,” concluded officials.
