The executive president of the museum of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) – Dr Ahmed Ghanim, has extended a greeting to the visitors regarding the celebrations of World Museum Day, which falls On 18 May every year.
The museum has organized several events, including art exhibitions, educational tours, and free guided tours for visitors and tourists.
The reports have stated that the events were hosted to present a number of educational and artistic activities and workshops aimed at museum visitors of different age groups, from adults, youth, children, and people with deaf concerns. Weakness of hearing from the Egyptians.
On his part, Dr Ahmed Ghanim, the executive president of the museum, confirmed that this comes within the framework of the museum’s keenness to activate its community role to spread cultural and archaeological awareness among all sections of society.
He further claimed that the events were held to introduce the people to ancient Egyptian history and civilization, as a result of the participation of people with special needs and those with deaf and hearing impaired in the events of this day.
In addition, “The museum’s belief is an important role to engage them with all members of the community and enjoy their rights to know their country’s history and civilization,” said the executive director of NMEC.
The guided tours included introducing visitors to the museum’s unique collections that tell the history of Egyptian civilization throughout the ages, as well as a tour of the museum’s open area overlooking the museum’s board of Archaeology, Dr Misra Abdullah, Deputy Director of the Museum’s Archaeology Board, said.
During the events, the museum witnessed the flocks of thousands of lovers of civilization and history enjoying this magnificent piece. Ahmed Ghanim added that the museum also conducted a live experience for visitors with augmented reality technology of a selection of the most prominent artefacts exhibited in cooperation with the Builder Egypt Digital initiative, which was initiated by a group of digital arts students on the initiative.
On his part, Azza Rizq, the head of the museum education department at the museum, added that the different events also included holding an artistic and educational workshop entitled “Complaints of the Falah Al-Fasil” to learn about one of the most wonderful examples of Pharaonic literature.
It is noteworthy that the museum held a series of introductory lectures and showed simplified videos for children aged 8 To 12 years old, which shed light on Ancient Egyptian literature and Egyptian life.
It also outlined how to benefit from the experiences of others, as well as an art workshop for children to draw story contents and characters, where children extracted vital concepts of Ancient Egyptian life.
