Elections Committees confirm readiness to register candidates

Abu Dhabi: The Federal National Council Elections Committees 2023, affiliated with the National Elections Commission, confirmed their readiness to start registering candidates in a manner that takes into account the geographical distribution of members of the electoral bodies through trained and qualified competencies to manage the registration, review and approval of candidacy applications easily and professionally.

In detail, the Abu Dhabi Emirate Committee announced the readiness of the approved candidate registration centres to receive members of the Electoral College of the Emirate wishing to run for membership in the Federal National Council 2023, who were unable to register through the remote candidate registration platform via the website of the National Elections Committee or its smart application, and who meet the constitutional conditions. Required for candidacy, from August 15 to 17, from 8 am to 3 pm, and on August 18, from 8 am to 12 noon.

Those wishing to run can submit a candidacy application to the Emirate Committee by themselves or through an agent on their behalf under a special power of attorney. The committee will receive candidacy applications after ensuring that the candidate meets the required legal conditions and then submit them to the National Elections Committee – through the Elections Management Committee. – for adoption.

The National Elections Committee has identified 3 centres in Abu Dhabi, which are the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Committee in the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the second floor, Al Ain in the registration centre in Al Masoudi Council and Al Dhafra in the main building in the Al Dhafra Region Municipality.

Saif Ali Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Committee for the Federal National Council Elections 2023, confirmed that all necessary equipment had been completed to facilitate the process of registering candidacy applications. 

This came during his chairmanship of the committee’s periodic meeting, where the readiness of the candidate registration centres in the emirate was reviewed.

The Emirate of Sharjah Committee for the Federal National Council Elections 2023 held a meeting to discuss the ongoing preparations for the implementation of the elections at the committee’s headquarters in the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.

During its meeting chaired by Counselor Issa Saif bin Handal, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of all its members, namely Brigadier General Ibrahim Musabah Al-Ajel, Ahmed Hamad Al-Suwaidi, Abdul Rahman Saeed bin Shaheen Al-Suwaidi, and Haya Muhammad Al-Salman, the committee confirmed the readiness of its headquarters, in the Sharjah Consultative Council building, to receive members The Electoral Commission of the Emirate wishing to run for the Federal National Council elections 2023, and those who were unable to register from August 15 to August 17, 2023, from 8 am to 3 pm, and August 18, from 8 am to 12 noon.

 Rashid Abdul Rahman bin Gibran Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Emirate of Ajman Committee for the Federal National Council Elections affiliated to the National Elections Committee, affirmed the committee’s readiness for the success of the fifth round of the Federal National Council Elections 2023, indicating that the headquarters of the committee has been equipped according to the highest standards to provide the necessary services, facilities and support to all members. 

This came during the committee’s meeting, which was held at its headquarters in Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Hall in the Ajman Museum, during which the agenda and preparations for the Federal National Council elections were discussed, and the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the controls and rules of electoral campaigns in the emirate.
